2008 Resolutions

The stores are full of Easter eggs already, so it's probably too late to be talking about the new year, but I'm running a bit behind.
Focus on the good stuff
This is my big general, all of life resolution, with particular attention paid to choosing and sticking with projects, and to my attitude to work.
I don't know if this affects other bootstrapper types, but I found that I developed a bit of the desperation mentality somewhere along the way. It's a compulsion to frantically pursue anything that I think might be successful, regardless of it's suitability to my strengths, my interest in it, and it's effect on existing projects. My goal for this year is to choose promising projects I think I'll enjoy and see them through.
I'd also like to focus on feeling good about all the things that are going well, instead of worrying constantly about something that isn't. I think I can keep pushing things forward without needing to feel like I'm at work 24/7. I also hope that this will lead to less late nights spent at the PC feeling stressed out, yet actually achieving nothing.
Likelihood of Success: I've been trying to do this for a long time already, this is just the first time I've tried to put it in words. I feel much better about the way I work and the schedules I set for myself. I also think I'm a bit smarter about choosing to pull the trigger on projects. On the flip side, I still exchange many emails with Andrey about potential side projects, and feel far too much temptation to pursue them...
Exercise
I think I make this one every year. I feel better when I exercise, most successful people recommend exercise... I don't know why I've never managed to make a go of it.
Likelihood of Success: 30+ years of neglect and good intentions suggest this one won't work out...
Remember how to be good at video games
I don't know what happened here, I'm sure I used to be good, and I figured I was probably slipping a bit with age, but recently I realized I really suck. If anyone wants to score some easy wins, or provide equally sucky fodder for me to hone my skills against, I'm "gavinbea" on Xbox Live.
Likelihood of Success: I think it's 50:50 lack of practice and aging thumbs, so I'm expecting some improvement, but I know my best gaming days are behind me.
And with that posted, I guess it's time for me to truly accept that it's now 2008, the holidays are over, and it's time to get back down to business.
Many thanks to everyone who posted a comment on my digest note earlier in the week, I really appreciated all the positive feedback and wishes.

When it comes to fitness, I tried something drastic a year or so ago. Registered for a triathlon a few months away, then let a fear of looking silly drive you into a punishing fitness regime.
I actually got to like it :)
Getting good at Video Games and getting in shape are two goals kind of at odds with each other :). Look for an invite on 360 from ry0ohki though... not that i'm too great myself.
Nice idea Tim, but I think my fear of looking silly might be a little underdeveloped for a grand gesture like that :).
Cool, thanks Phil.
I chose to believe that they are similar goals. One is macro and the other is micro, focused on the thumbs :).
